Student Resources

Our Mission...

  • To further the art of music through programs that encourage and support music teaching, performance, composition and research.

WMTA offers several statewide music programs for students to measure their progress in areas such as theory, technique, performance and ear training.  WMTA also offers leadership, continuing education programs, financial assistance and support to independent and collegiate teachers in Wisconsin.  Students in grades 1-12 and adults may participate in our student affiliate activities.  Further information on any activity is available on the pages below (or the current issue of the WMTA Auditions Handbook).

The Wisconsin Music Teachers Association is affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association.  As a benefit of this affiliation, WMTA members have the opportunity to become nationally certified through MTNA.  This rigorous process helps teachers assess and hone their skills and broaden their knowledge, formulate wise business practices, and increase their level of professionalism.
